Americanification: In the Mood for Old Glory

americanification.jpg

For the record: We couldn't find sparklers or any form of fireworks on eBay. We guess that's a good thing. On the other hand, just a few days before the long weekend, we're all feeling a little nostalgic for a time when we didn't worry about who was running the country, polar bears still had icebergs (pasta was still macaroni?), and the apple pie was made with Crisco. Yep, those were the days and these are our Fourth of July ebay faves.

A.P.C. Madras Tote Bag—A nice place to stash a sweater and flask when you watch the fireworks (helps bring out the colors, don't you know).

1970s Croquet Set—Ahh, croquet and mint juleps (there's a reason we like this holiday). Long, lazy weekends rule.

Bakelite Eggplant & Corn Necklace
—God almighty, this is almost worth the price tag. No, wait—it's totally worth the price tag (just take the bus for the next few weeks).

American Grafitti—Great cars, cute fashion, amazing music, and teenage memories from a time before you were born. A classic summer flick, indeed.

Vintage Meet The Presidents Game
—Because it might rain, and it would be fun for the whole family (with cocktails). Plus, you might actually learn a thing or two.
