Your future's so bright, you gotta wear shades. And we think we've found the illest sunnies—created by super-stars—to shield you from your imminent superstardom. Let's give a big drumroll for Phosphorescence, a brand spankin' new line of sunglasses from artist Hisham Akira Bharoocha. You might recognize Bharoocha from spreads in i-D, exhibitions at Deitch Projects, or gigs with bands like Lighting Bolt, Black Dice, or Soft Circle (yep, he was a founding member in all of 'em), so you're not exactly in shock-and-awe that his creative juices have taken a sartorial inclination. And what's life without a little help from your friends? In this case Phosphorescence enlisted some of the Big App's coolest characters and brands for frames that won't be knocked off on Canal Street. The shady gang includes Erin Wasson, Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon, United Bamboo, Zero + Maria Cornejo, No Age, Opening Ceremony, and Rockers NYC. With styles that range from the classic to the extreme, that made-in-Japan cred-stamp, and a long line at Colette, grabbing a pair of these peeper protectors is almost guaranteed to add some insta-cool. Just don't be all confused when you get street-style snapped,Vice Mag wants to do a portfolio, or, are those paparazzi we see? Shade up!
