The Secret's Out: This Bed-Stuy Restaurant Will Be The Hottest Reservation In Town

We know we brought you a hit-list of weird restaurants this very morning, but we couldn't help but bring you another listing that's still strange, but also very stylish. Indeed, there's nothing like discovering a fresh place to boost your street cred–and we've got a brand-spankin new find that'll knock your friends' socks clean off. Enter the month-old Do or Dine, located in Bed-Stuy, the Brooklyn neighborhood that's slowly-but-surely becoming a less-obnoxious overflow pool for Williamsburg. Though the eatery looks not unlike an unsanitary hole-in-the-wall, it's actually a fully remodeled hotspot with food that will literally make you weep with joy (so say our interns). Part of the mystery of this very hidden spot is the awning, retained from the West Indian restaurant that formerly inhabited the space. You'll have to look under and up to find any sign of the current owners, a collective of twenty-something dudes who worked at The Modern, but once you step in it's clear this ain't no mom-and-pop joint—the disco ball in the main room and the graffiti mural in the garden are just two things that make for the class-A atmosphere. Don't even get us started on the menu, with incredible, surprisingly gourmet food at unbelievable prices, and some wry names ("Mussels, Flexed") that make for some first-date conversation starters. We recommend the "Fish and Some Chips,"...just don't be scared to eat the whole thing. Plus, for now, it's BYOB, so you can get a taste for the 'hood at one of the liquor stores in a three-block radius. This is Yum with a capital Y, so make sure you stop by before it becomes reservations required!
