Get Into The Groove: "Desperately Seeking Susan" Hits Dalston

Surely we're not the only ones OD'ing on repeat viewings of holiday "classics" like Love Actually and The Holiday, right? With all due respect to Mark Darcy's tacky reindeer jumper, we're itching for a cinematic palate cleanser, stat. And what to our wondering eyes should appear, but a late-night showing of a Madonna film we hold particularly dear.
Calm down, it's not Swept Away. Dalston's Rio Cinema is hosting an 11:30 p.m. viewing of Desperately Seeking Susan this Saturday, 15 December. And, while the 1985 comedy co-starring Rosanna Arquette and Aidan Quinn is partly responsible for making Madge a movie star (oops), it's totally worth it for the amazing wardrobe (those bustiers! that pyramid jacket!) and killer '80s soundtrack.
Our game plan: Slip out of that Christmas cocktail party early, hop in a cab, and whip out the popcorn and lace gloves. Keep the faith.
When: Saturday, 15 December at 11:30 p.m.
Where: Rio Cinema, Dalston, 107 Kingsland High Street, E8 2PB. More details here.
