What do you think are the most important elements when building a balanced workspace?
"Our workspace is the one place where we don't feel like we need to be organized, it is a creative free-for-all. We are lucky that we can keep office work separate from our design space. That way, the stresses of running a business don't impact our creative time. So, we would say the most important element is to keep business and pleasure — which in our case is design — separate!"

We love how much color you have here — what’s your personal philosophy when decorating?
"Because our shoes are mostly neutral, we decided to go big with the space. One of our favorite moments so far in this process, is when we were showing our spring collection to one of our important buyers. We were describing the colors we chose and she said, 'What color?' We were stumped, and now laugh about it all the time. We feel like in shoes we use color, well, it is understandable and wearable. In interior design we become more daring, because at the end of the day you don't have to wear red lounge chairs!"
