Alison Gary of Wardrobe Oxygen and her husband, Karl

How did you meet your photographer?
Alison: "He is my husband of almost eight years... We're high school sweethearts! We met senior year —had mutual friends who invited both of us to the movies with them. It was love at first sight, and we have been together ever since."

How long have you taken photos together?
Alison: "For about three years. Before that, I did the MySpace-style self-portraits in a full-length mirror for my blog. After a remodel of our home, I no longer had the room with the mirror at my disposal, so I asked my husband if he wouldn't mind taking my pictures. One of the best results from the home improvement project, as I now have clear, attractive photos!"

Does Karl ever critique your outfit?
Alison: "He did just the other morning, and I changed my outfit thanks to his suggestion! He's really good with critiquing accessories, and has a good eye for proportion."

Okay, shutterbug: What motivates you to be involved in personal-style blogging?
Karl: "Alison supports my passions and interests, and so I support hers. It's a skill I have, and am happy to help her out any way I can."

Has taking photos for Alison changed the way you look at other people's outfits?
Karl: "It makes me realize the effort women put into what they wear every day, and how they use it to express themselves."

What clothing pieces do you like for Alison to wear in photos?
Karl: "Bright colors — they fit her personality."
