This Is Our Jam Premieres: Darlings, “Nothing I Don’t Care For”

darlings
Brooklyn's Darlings have been on the scene for a while now mixing the sounds of '90s indie slackers like Archers of Loaf and Pavement with its own brand of garage-rock nonchalance. "Nothing I Don't Care For," from its upcoming Perfect Trip LP, is one of its best tracks yet in its underrated catalog, with a surf-rock strum and ahh-ah-ahhs that any Pinkerton fan should find immediately pleasing. It's a lot more difficult to make not caring sound interesting than you'd think, but the fraught semi-adolescent relationship of "Nothing I Don't Care For" strikes an endearing mix of nostalgia and apathy. Watch out for Perfect Trip when it drops January 29.
