Jet, Set, Go! Daphne Javitch's Marrakesh Photo Diary

Daphne Javitch is one of our favorite people, and not just because she makes cotton underwear line, TEN, which has quickly become the first pair we reach for on fresh-laundry day. Recently, she took a trip to Marrakech for the Marrakech International Film Festival, and snapped a lot of great pics, just for us. She managed to capture some global starlets, a lot of local flavor, and all the highlights from her trip abroad. Check out this photo diary of the most memorable moments — just be careful that your brain comes back to your desk afterward. No vacation for you, just yet!

My favorite thing about Marrakech...there are fresh orange juice stands scattered throughout the main square. This was the best orange juice I've ever had in my life!

The Moroccan actress Amal Attrache. She had my absolute favorite style at the festival. Each night she wore an incredible, creative and gorgeous ensemble.

Melita Toscan Du Plantier is so enamored with Morocco that she considers her job as the director of The Marrakech International Film Festival more passion than work. Effortlessly elegant, she loves fashion and fashion loves her — she even has a Louboutin shoe named after her (the Melita Pump)!

What is your definition of beauty?
"For me, the most beautiful thing is nature. The nature and tradition in each country is more beautiful than the new things. Beauty for me is also the beauty of people. Someone's soul and generosity — that's beauty."

How would you describe your style?
"I love clothes. I love fashion. I missed out on it when I was young because I come from a very poor family, immigrated from Serbia. Now I am so lucky to know all of these designers- some are very close friends of mine like Chrisitan Loubouton and Karl Lagerfeld. When I'm at the festival I feel like Cinderella — to be able to wear Haute Couture dresses at night and beautiful shoes. Sometimes I get changed three times a day and I love it. I'm very lucky. I'm lucky to be able to have and wear all these things. But I'll tell you something — when I come back from Marrakech, for a few days I don't wear heels and I'm in my jeans and my jumper. I just want to relax a little bit. It's nice also to be able to not care about it and relax — but still in style!"

Stephanie Sigman, the gorgeous rising star of Mexico, was at the Marrakech International Film Festival promoting her new film Miss Bala.

What's your favorite part of Marrakech so far?
"The market, the Souk. It's my favorite place because that's where all the real things are happening — the people, the colors, the textures, the cows, the negotiations…it's fun!"

What's the best part of your job?
"So far I think the best part is everything! The best best best part of my job is to be in the skin of somebody else. It's like finding another part of yourself."

Do you have an American celebrity crush? "Yes, I do. Ryan Gosling. But I don't know him!"
