So what if some of us are still a little shaky behind the handlebars? That doesn't mean we can't all dream a little dream of what we'd be wearing if we were taking our cherry-red beach cruisers (with basket attached) out for a spin this weekend!
Whether you're just finding your cement cycle legs (Venice boardwalk anyone?), or are pounding the rough-and-tumble trails of Mandeville Canyon, we'd like to take a moment and remind everyone that looking cute should never trump being safe. With all of the street-style snaps of viciously stylin' ladies rocking five-inchers while pedaling away, it's important to keep this fact in sight now that summer is upon us. If your skills are pro-level, we don't want to hold you back — go on with your bad selves in those stilettos! But for the rest of us, well, we prefer a little solid grounding when we make that first push. That means a few things as far as our choice in footwear goes: A flat surface, a stability-enhancing set of laces (or ankle straps), and lightweight construction.
