What do you love most about having curly hair? What do you hate?
"I love the texture of curly hair. I also love my cut because it really pushes my hair 'up' — the bigger the better, I always say. But I do hate how tangled my hair gets! I had to cut a mini-dreadlock once because was getting pretty tangled."
How long does it take to do your hair?
"About 10 minutes. I have to pick it out with my fingers and put oils on it, twist it a little if it's too limp, and spray on some hairspray. I use Pantene curly hairspray — it's great and doesn't dry out the hair!"
What's your frizz-fighting secret?
"I use Moroccanoil on my hair, wet and dry, because it keeps my hair smooth. I sometimes also sleep with my hair in a bandana or scarf to keep it from moving around too much in my sleep."
Would you ever straighten your curls?
"Yeah, for fun I love to switch it up. Sometimes It makes me feel like a different person. I wouldn't put any chemicals on it, to straighten it though. I used to, when I was younger and it can be quite damaging."
What are your must-have curly-hair products?
"I need my pick (a wide-tooth comb) — I love it so much. It's extremely long and perfect. I use it on my wet hair to pick out the knots."
What's your best advice for all curly girls?
"You shouldn't compare your hair to anyone else's hair — all curls are different and you need to love what you have. Also, when getting your hair cut, don't get a cut that's meant for straight hair. Know the haircuts for curly hair or ask about them — it's gonna help you in the long run! Frizzy bangs aren't cute."
