Contract Extensions: Galliano Re-Ups With Dior

dior0929a
Normally haute couture is not in our editorial sites. "Wearability"—that's our motto. Still, we love peeking in at the odd creatures created by Mr. John Galliano (above, center) of Dior. Good, bad, ugly, they're always like little droplets of Red Bull on our often fashion-bleary eyes. That's why, in the post-Fashion Week atmosphere that often sees a mad scramble of firings and hirings (note the replacement of Matthew Williamson with Peter Dundas at Pucci), we were glad to hear that Galliano has just signed up for another stint at his home for 10 years. Going forward, WWD reports that he will be integrating the operations of his namesake brand (below, left) into the historic fashion house, expanding the reach of Dior's retail empire, and making more florescent knit caps that look like sea creatures (below, right). See, it wasn't all bad business news today. (WWD)
