7 Stories, 20,000 Square Feet: Commes Des Garçons Is Coming To NYC

UPDATE: Style.com has more amazing details about the project, straight from the mouth of Comme des Garçons CEO Adrian Joffe. Click here to read about all the impending "beautiful chaos."
Yes, it seems it's official: Commes Des Garçons is opening an NYC brick-and-mortar store. Or shall we say mega store. The space, a seven-story, 20,000-square-foot palace will house "Comme's various lines with a range of international designer brands for women and men," WWD reports. This announcement marks a year-long countdown towards the opening of the Gramercy Park(ish) location, set to welcome shoppers in December 2013. And, though it may be set in a residential neighborhood, we're certain it won't be difficult to find this massive mainstay — the "colonnaded, limestone" building used to be a learning space for Touro College. Let it all soak in, then start your 12-month countdown. This is huge. (WWD)
