When it comes to local color, our fair city has it in spades. But if you're looking for some really local color, look no further than Coco Rae cosmetics, a new line of nail polishes from local lady Courtney Vines.
Inspired by her young daughter, Nahla, Vines launched her company in February with 12 colors for summer, ranging from perfectly icy pastels to tan-amplifying pinks and corals. For an added feel-good factor, the polishes are made in the U.S. and are free of toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and camphor.
You can shop the full range of polishes (priced at $10 a bottle) online, but if you really want to treat yourself, mark your calendars for June 15, when the Georgetown Urban Chic will host a Coco Rae launch party — think free polish changes, a buy-3-get-1-free promo, a 20% discount on Urban Chic purchases, and sips and sweets. If that doesn't get you stoked for a mani, we don't know what will.
