Chop Shop: Obesity and Speed’s SS ’09 Lookbook

os1003a
Time to bust out the Tony Little workout tapes, gals. The spring runways have already been teasing us with cutouts and crop tops (et tu, Miuccia?), but even that didn't prepare us for the fleshy free-for-all presented in Obesity and Speed's new SS '09 lookbook (modeled here by burgeoning It girl Isabelle McNally.) Heavy on gloomy-hued stripes and animal prints, the New York-based line's sliced-and-diced collection features more cutouts than Buffalo Bill's sewing room: sleeveless tops and tunics pierced with belly- and bra-baring butterfly-shaped holes; rungs of skin and striped fabric down the back of a dress; arm openings exposed to the hip; and, most brazenly of all, porthole-sized perforations running along the side of two groupie-esque mini dresses and a pair of black pants. Dieting, Dale Carnegie self-esteem lessons, and a black bra might be in order, but in the meantime, cover up with a skull cami or knotted neck sweatshirt from Obesity and Speed's Nothing Sacred collection at Urban Outfitters. Now work them glutes!
