Powell's Bookstore

If you're in the market for a scholarly read (theology, anyone?), then Powell's is your place — there's a hearty selection at both of its locations (Lakeview and Hyde Park.) But there are plenty of other general interest sections ranging from fiction and photography to poetry and cookbooks to keep everyone reading away. The staff travels the globe to constantly stock its inventory (250,000 plus books!), so don't leave without checking out the "rare" section. You never know what you'll find.
