The Lazy Girl's Solution To Holiday Baking

La Fournette
We absolutely fell in love with this newish French bakery in Old Town. It's a family-run operation with roots dating back over 100 years in the Alsatian village of Schnersheim, France — could it get more charming? While we're slightly obsessed with Chef Pierre Zimmermann's sinful almond croissants, we suggest you create a French-themed cookie plate, complete with delectable macarons, sweet kouglof, gingerbread crisps, and Uncle Hansi's Hazelnut Pound Cake.
La Fournette, 1547 North Wells Street (between Burton Place and North Avenue); 312-624-9430.
