So, obviously your shoes are works of art, and are very surrealist-inspired. We're curious what hangs on your walls at home!
"I have things ranging from my children’s paintings to a couple of Guy Bourdin photographs, which is something I’ve wanted my whole life. I’ve got beautiful Horst photographs — I have quite a few photographs actually. I grew up with photography, my dad was a very keen amateur photographer and he collected some of it for art. There are two Jan Jensen vintage shoes that I’ve had mounted in Perspex boxes as well as two old Versace printed two-piece suits that belonged to my mother from the '80s —one is printed with Marilyn Monroe and James Dean pictures. And, I never thought I’d wear it, then of course the other day I wanted to but couldn't because it's encased! I’d rather have it that way, though, rather than in the back of the cupboard, never to be worn for a long time."
Would you call yourself nostalgic?
"I like to look at pretty things and I’m a collector! I’ve got my old Kermit the Frog and Fuzzy Bear that I put in Perspex boxes, as well, because I don’t sleep with them anymore, but you know they're my childhood buddies and I don’t want to shove them in a box. So, they're on the wall so I can to see them all the time. I’ve got so many old photographs like my grandparents' old passports from the '50s, framed one on top of the other. She has a little scarf on her neck and beautiful hair set in little curlers. So, yes, just nostalgic things. I wouldn’t call myself a hoarder, I’d call myself a collector."
