Alexa Chung Parties Inside A Giant Chanel Bag In Vegas

Sin City got a taste of couture this past weekend with the kick-off of the 10-day installation at the Wynn honoring Coco Chanel's legacy. Numéros Privés, A Journey Through The World Of CHANEL, has set up a temporary home in the Las Vegas hotel for the remainder of the week, but the opening party was, no doubt, the chicest guest-list the town has ever seen (sorry JWoww, Carmen Electra, second-tier character in Glee). Gorgeous girls kitted-out in Chanel attire and jewelry —think the likes of Gia Coppola, Diane Kruger, Rachel Zoe, Dree Hemingway, and Poppy Delevigne— did le boogie to Imelda May's live performance, before grinding down those double-C heels to the beats of Alexa Chung.
Between sipping bubbles, the crowd also previewed the super-haute exhibit that celebrates the House's most prized and iconic fashion contributions and history. Compiled from 10 spaces, the installation features a recreation of Gabrielle Chanel's own Rue Cambon apartment, a children's bedroom filled with Karl Lagerfeld-designed dolls, and a futuristic air-lock chamber that's actually a giant 2.55 bag. Clearly, Chanel's motto is go big or go home. Case and point: Just a few days post-party, the Kaiser wowed us again with the brand's couture presentation.... on an airplane, crafted inside the Grand Palais, complete with impeccably dressed stewardesses and steered by Kaptain Karl (check the whole slew of crazy twitpics here).
While the the party is way past over, relive a few moments of the Las Vegas night that we can show you — everything else stays in Paris Vegas, remember?
