Did you always want to be an actress, or was it something you fell into by accident?
"I’ve always wanted to be an actress. When I was a little kid, I would put on shows with all the neighborhood kids. These would be strange little productions about talking animals, cupcakes with costumes, songs, and, of course, audiences. The captive kind made up of frightened family members."
So, somewhere along the line you must have realized you were a pretty funny gal. Would you say that's your personality or part of the job?
"I would say that’s my personality. As a kid, I’d always try to get my parents and sister to laugh. It’s a part of me, so my job never feels like a job. I get to be surrounded by the funniest people in the business and perform on the best comedy stage in the world. I’m in love with what I do."
In three words, who is Carisa when she's not on stage?
"Happy. Wine-drinking. Baker."
Carisa is wearing a vintage Dorothy Hubbs dress and Nevermind shoes.
