Eco-friendly fave Carbon boutique is already known for championing local design talent, but for the holidays, the shop is dialing up that support by hosting a two-part trunk show series for Aidah Collection, designed by local lady Aidah Fontenot. Think sustainable-chic dresses, skirts, and tops from the fall/winter '11 collection, plus some stocking-stuffer extras, like hand-painted totes and crafty holiday cards. For the thrifty, there are gifts for a steal (the under-$25 kind of steal!), and you can get in the shopping spirit with drinks, Red Velvet Cupcakery treats, goodie bags with Kiehl's products, and raffle prizes. Can’t make it to Part 1 on Saturday? Not to worry — the second installment goes down on Saturday, December 17. And if you need an extra dose of warm-and-fuzzy, 10% of proceeds from the trunk shows will go to local charities.
