The layered-jean effect of the infamous Canadian tuxedo seemed to have been left in the '90s, along with cross-colors and puff-paint. But, lo and behold, it appears the solid jean suit is experiencing a major re-emergence — and while we already knew the Man Repeller was fully signed on, it appears rag & bone, Stella McCartney, and Marni certainly concur.
The Canadian tux is no longer a fashion faux pas, but a cheeky and utilitarian nod to the past. Peep this recent WWD photo shoot that put a twist on the denim-on-denim trend, with jumpsuits, jackets, and jeans galore. Think Canadian tux luxe!
And hey, the denim-on-denim look doesn't have to be a tricky one to pull off, especially because it harkens so heavily back to a particular era. With worn washes and vests, the new take on the old trend is actually quite dynamic. But maybe skip cutting the waistband off of your jeans...that will probably never come back.
