If This Is What Fashion Quicksand Looks Like, We’re Jumping Right In

Whether it’s our editor-in-chief sharing her best thrifting tips, or our senior market editor and associate entertainment editor competing for smiles, Refinery29 loves showcasing the many talents and passions of our team. When we saw the pictures from a personal project our art director Meg Lazaros recently developed, we knew the world needed to be graced with this minimalist dream.
Collaborating with her friends in the creative community, Lazaros created a stunning editorial called “She’s Not There” with Brazilian IMG model, Camila Costa. The nude and white garments range from H&M to Céline, and Costa’s eerie, almost supernatural, poses bring the clothing to life. Responsible for the shoot’s art direction and set design, Lazaros opted for a palette so bare, Costa almost disappears into the walls. Click through the slides to see the images and dive into that fashionable quicksand with us.
