When You're In The Mood For Moroccan: Andalous
You may not think to eat Moroccan food all that often — but maybe that's because there aren't too many restaurants in Chicago to choose from. But Andalous is certainly no consolation prize. From yummy dips, like the zaalook (fresh eggplant grilled and mashed with tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, and Moroccan spices), to the exotic tagines, such the meknes (tender chicken marinated in lemon confit, with onions and saffron, and green olives), you may ask yourself why you don't eat this flavorful and fragrant cuisine more often.
The Moroccan mint tea is a great way to digest such a heavy meal, though we suggest you leave at least a little room for a bite or two of the house-made pastry trio.
Andalous, 3307 North Clark Street (between School Street and Aldine Avenue); 773-281-6885.
