Built By Wendy’s Multi-Cultural Mash-Up Gets a Nautical Twist for Fall

built-by-wendy-fashion-show-1
Built by Wendy's fall 2009 collection is part youthful whimsy and part tight-laced victorian, borrowing tips from Bernardo Bertolucci and Roman Polanski. Designer Wendy Mullin calls it the "purest form of her vision come alive," which can be seen in the white and pastel Asian print adapted from the drapes in a Guy Bourdin photo. Mullin's vision was so distinct she even constructed the music with help of Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz. The multi-cultural mashup with a nautical twist is either reality-based fantasy or fantasy-based reality, but either way, we love what we've got comin' to us—it's delicate, well "built," and super easy to wear.
