Green Shakshuka at Jack's Wife Freda
If you’ve ever wondered why this spot has a cult-like following, it’s because of incredible, light food that doesn’t sacrifice flavor. The beloved Soho restaurant knocks brunch out of the park with its perfectly varied breakfast-and-lunch menu. Its saucy, slightly spicy version of Israeli baked eggs is totally unique, not to mention the perfect compliment to the warm, oh-so-soft challah bread served alongside it. Best part is, if you time your dining just right, you can take in iced Stumptown coffee (with adorable JWF-monogrammed sugar packets) and a morning meal at one of its intimate, outdoor tables.
Jack’s Wife Freda, 224 Lafayette Street (near Spring Street); 212-510-8550.
