Welcome Back, Brooklyn Flea – Oh How We’ve Missed Ya!

This weekend marks the return of the outdoor-version of the five-year old Brooklyn Flea, meaning our summer Sats 'n Suns just got a whole lot nicer. Not that we didn't love antiquing and vintage shopping at One Hanson Place (the flea's indoor hibernation loc.), but the idea of sunning and shopping all in one place sounds like the perfect cure for our winter blues. Following suit, the accompanying food market, Smorgasburg, will begin collabs with The Brooklyn Kitchen on April 21 for cuisine-themed events and activities all summer long. And really, what's better in the summertime than overindulging treating ourselves in mind and body (and wardrobe and tastebuds).

As if that weren't enough to get you revved up for summer '12, SmorgasBar is set to open late May or June, offering all you can drink of the best local brews in town. If the folks behind the Flea are trying to make us move into one of their booths create the best one-stop shop in town, they're on the right track. With over 400 vendors, Fort Greene will host Saturday's Flea and Williamsburg will play host to Sunday's general market and Saturday's Smorgasburg feast fest. Look no further for your summer plans — and look no further for us than the overflowing vintage racks and Miss Lily's Jerk Shack. Just make sure you make a game plan pre-Flea — we know from experience how easy it is getting caught up in one booth or food-coma-ing way too soon.
