Blake Lively Plans To Open Restaurants, Has A New Chanel Ad

In a scene reminiscent of Gossip Girl's Season 4 premiere, Blake Lively was once again in Paris, carrying a Chanel bag (though Blair Waldorf's bitchiness was thankfully absent). Lively was in the City of Lights to celebrate her starring turn in the house’s new Mademoiselle handbag campaign (above) shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself. While the dramatically-looking-in-the mirror concept has been done, we think Blake's beauty compensates, and the red highlights, shadowed cheekbones, and fur gives her a Parisian chicness that momentarily dispels her bubbly, always smiling self. WWD chatted the star up during a dinner to celebrate her ambassador role, where Blake revealed she dances to the Lion King soundtrack, and listed her style inspirations—Grace Kelley, Audrey Hepburn, and Sienna Miller (duh, duh, and duh).
Lively's interest in fashion began early; Her mother was a model, and together they went vintage shopping and "sew [ed] a lot." But she has no plans to go into fashion herself: "I have such a respect for fashion and such an appreciation for it that if there are people like Karl Lagerfeld out there designing, who am I?” However, the actress does "plan to open a few restaurants one day," the first being a brunch place. "I will be the chef, I will create the menus, I will decorate." Maybe Leighton Meester can front the advertising campaign. (WWD)
