Etta, Adele, Mraz, Bublé...it’s the sound of commitment, people.
According to Spotify listening habits, the second weekend of July is a popular time to get hitched; we noticed a significant spike in the number of streams for wedding-themed playlists (of which there are more than 30,000). By analyzing playlists titled “First Dance,” (12,000 plus), we were able to isolate the top songs couples get their groove on to as their ‘til death do us part jam at marriage celebrations around the world.
Etta James’ “At Last” takes the (wedding) cake. And, clearly, couples want friends and family to know they’re in it for the long haul — “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz ranks second.

Ray LaMontagne’s “You Are The Best Thing," which was featured in the 2009 bromance film I Love You, Man, is the third most popular track for first dances. And, John Legend’s ode to new wife Chrissy Teigen, “All Of Me” is fourth (Spotify listeners in general are bananas for this song — it’s one of the top-streamed tracks of 2014 so far and is closing in on 130 million plays).
Rounding out the top five is surf-loving musician Jack Johnson with his sweet track “Better Together.”
