We're not here to play favorites, but makeup removers just may be our favorite beauty products. Sure, we rely on our sunscreens, we dig our face oils, and we couldn't live without our cleansers. But, little is more satisfying than removing all of your makeup at the end of a long day. Which remover does that job best? We'll let the folks over at Rank & Style answer that question.
The site uses customer reviews, editors' picks, and overall buzz to figure out which products are going to work the hardest for you without bruising your bank account. Consider its authors beauty lovers with a penchant for math. After crunching the numbers, Rank & Style has named RMS Beauty's Raw Coconut Cream the best of the bunch.
RMS Beauty's pick wins top marks because of its popularity, the special place it holds in the hearts of beauty editors, and how much buzz it has generated. On Spirit Beauty Lounge, user Debra says, "It smells wonderful and removes every bit of my eye makeup without stinging — plus, there's no greasy feeling afterwards." That's the dream, isn't it?
What separates RMS Beauty's Coconut Cream from regular ol' coconut oil is how it is created. "Traditionally, hand-pressed coconut oil is most common, and is made by grinding and pressing fresh coconut into coconut milk," says Rose-Marie Swift, the founder of RMS Beauty. But, the heat process reduces some of the good-for-you ingredients, and it can create more bacteria. So, RMS uses a centrifuge-based extraction method, which keeps all the healing nutrients intact. The process explains the price ($14 a tube) and why many think it's better than the run-of-the-mill coconut oil you get at the health-food store. "This is the most expensive coconut oil, and the only oil RMS uses," says Swift.
We don't know about you, but that sounds like a good enough reason to give this remover a try. Why not play favorites with your makeup routine?
