Outerlands
If you like your sammies heavy on the bread, Outerlands should be your mecca. The grilled cheese option at this utterly cool surfers' hangout in the Outer Sunset serves up the most heavenly of levain slices, brushed with garlic oil, seared on a cast-iron skillet, and stuffed with cheese, all for five bucks! Double the price by adding an (almost) equally yummy soup or salad. If you want this specific beauty shown up top, note that you'll need to come for lunch, which is the only time it'll be served. Although the breakfast menu also includes a couple of open-faced wonders piled with mozzarella, gruyere, parmesan, and other toppings.
