Fun (well, at least to our inner science nerds) fact: Not all sweat is created equal. Some is caused by heat, some by activity, and still other by stress. The sweat caused by activity and your environment come from your eccrine sweat glands, while that pesky stress sweat — you know, that thing that happens when you have a really important meeting with your boss or are on a crazy deadline — comes from the apocrine glands. That apocrine-produced sweat tends to be heavy with proteins and lipids, which means more nutrients for bacteria and, hence, more odor.

According to Secret, most fragranced deodorants focus on covering up the odor, which can work on the less funky eccrine-produced sweat, but isn't going to cut it on that stress sweat. Their new Clinical Strength Stress Response antiperspirant and deodorant helps prevent all three types of sweat, and has special odor-neutralizing molecules that traps the odor and replaces it with a fresh, less ripe fragrance.

Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response, $7.99, available in late January at Drugstore.com.
