
Basic Training
“The only workout worth doing is the one you look forward to” is Basic Training’s mantra, which is definitely a motto we can get behind. Founder Jennifer Pattee and her team of amazing trainers keep things fun and interesting by leading groups of 5-20 boot campees through weekly outdoor workouts at some of S.F.'s most scenic spots. We're talking big S.F. landmarks (yanno, the ones you always promise yourself you'll visit more, but don't) like the Exploratorium, Duboce Park, Golden Gate Park, and AT&T Stadium. While you soak up the views and remind yourself just how much you love this city, you'll be tossing around medicine balls, jump roping furiously, doing sit-ups on concrete (mats are provided), and challenging your body in new ways each class. All the while, supportive coaches are there to help push you through, making it a perfect combo of inviting and strenuous.
Price: First class is free. Weekday drop-in classes are $20; Saturdays and Sundays are $25. Buy in bulk and get 10 classes for $185, 20 for $335, or a monthly membership for $200.
