While we don't miss our school days (pop quizzes, blargh), we do miss that constant thrill of learning new, exciting things. And it might not be quite the same as conquering the Pythagorean theorem, but Benefit's latest launch, a study in mastering a perfect complexion, is doing a bang up job of fulfilling our cravings for continuing education.
The new How To Look Your Best At Everything kit comes in three shade ranges — Light, Medium, and Dark — and features travel sizes of The Porefessional and Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, plus two shades of Boi-ing Concealer, and Hello Flawless! Powder. In addition, the brand has paired up with Sephora Pro Lead Artist Gilbert Soliz to provide professional tips on how to use these complexion essentials to perfect your look.
We had the chance to talk with Soliz about his role in crafting these all-in-one kits and managed to pick up a pretty neat trick. According to him, the thing that gives celebrities their red-carpet glow is a good dose of brightening concealer applied beneath the eye in a check-mark shape. Take your concealer and apply it from the inner corner of your eye, along the side of your nose until you reach your nostril, then across the cheek in a diagonal line upwards to the corner of the eye. Blend, blend, then blend again and you will have bright, open eyes that positively sparkle. According to Soliz, most women only get directly underneath their eyes, but the shadows of your face actually extend farther down, so in order to give your skin the best boost, you need to extend your concealer as well.
The face sets and their Lip and Cheek Kits counterparts aren't set to hit Sephora stores until July 31, but Benefit is having a flash sale right now on its site, so you can get your hands on these cosmetics textbooks well before anyone else. Better hurry because this class is in session for today only — snag the kits now or you'll have to wait until the end of the month!
