Move Over Minis! Below-the-Knee Skirts Are The Newest Trend

While the miniskirt will always hold a special place in our heart (and closets), we've found a new mistress to spend some time with. While she--the below-the-knee skirt, that is--may sound modest, she's all sex appeal, adding curves, smoothing out lines, accentuating all the places that should be shown off. Now the secret to pulling off the longer skirt is to dress for your height. Not a 5'10" runway model? Neither are we! Just make sure your skirt is high waisted, in a plain print, and the ankle of your shoes cuts low. If you are a 5'10" model, then we give you license to go nuts: Bobby socks and wild patterns make deliberate '40s allusions, hip-slung silhouettes help you create that bohemian look, and flared and draped versions add some high-glamor oomph to you daytime duds. But who are we to make rules? Here are some runway inspiration and products to help you have a skirt affair for yourself!
