Hey Waffle Lovers — Syrup & Butter is So Yesterday!

2
Waffles, s’mores, waffles, s’mores — which snack is worth blowing your weekly splurge allowance? Enter Bel 50, a tasty solution to that #firstworldproblem. Newly opened in River North, this modern spot churns out a plethora of sweet and savory stuffings to cram between – drum roll, please – waffle bread!
Crispy on the outside and soft as carb-filled clouds on the inside, the signature waffles are whipped up by celebrity Chef Joey Altman and are only 220 calories, but (sorry) we don’t suggest trying to get by with a light lunch here. It's the buttermilk-fried chicken with honey-mustard glaze, pulled pork with avocado slaw and gooey marshmallow with dark chocolate that will do you in. Throw cal counting to the wind and wash it all down with a beer or a thick milkshake. You've earned it.
Bel 50, 738 North Clark Street (between Superior Street and Chicago Avenue); 312-202-0600.
