A modern spin on the age-old drink gruit (and we mean old … it dates back to the medieval times), Magnolia Pub and Brewery in the Haight serves up the herbal concoction, Weekapaug Gruit. It highlights some of nature’s notables: wild rosemary, chamomile, coriander anise, oats, barley, wheat, sweet gale, yarrow, and more. Plus, it's a full-bodied, deep-amber ale (no hops!). It just uses these au natural agents as bitters. Impressive, eh? This one is guaranteed to warm you up on a cold day. Chug-a-lug!
