So you say you've been down the crimping road before, huh? Been burned — literally and figuratively — by this '80s throwback style? We hear ya, but put that cynicism on hold for a hot second and take a gander at how it's being used this time around. We saw so many iterations of this fairytale take on crimping — soft, fluffy, and paired with ultra-feminine updos and makeup — that we were beginning to think our favorite designers had been replaced by the cast of Once Upon A Time.
We're not mad at it, though — on the contrary, we're totally smitten with it. Much as we try to kid ourselves, we never really outgrew our attraction to crimping, and we're stoked to see it in such a fun, yet still sophisticated way. The best example of this new crimping: Badgley Mischka's romantic floral coiffs, which featured a faint streak of tiny crimps to accentuate the delicate, feminine nature of the 'do. Not too in-your-face, but still interesting enough to add some intrigue, this style is one of the main reasons we're in the market for a new crimping iron.
