A Self-Professed Product Junkie Confesses Her Dream Fall Buys

When it comes to beauty products, my brain is constantly whirring. I can't not be consuming some sort of beauty info, whether it's processing my latest product review, dreaming up innovative new solutions to my beauty woes, or lusting after the latest products. I use Pinterest, Evernote, and even TeuxDeux to manage my beauty wish list — a monster that is constantly evolving. Like a well-edited fall wardrobe, I've narrowed down my autumn wants to the essentials that I cannot wait to get my hands on.

Treating my skin gets tricky in the fall since I still have to deal with removing excess oil — even though my skin is drier. (I actually break out more in the cooler months!) So, I'm hoping, nay, convinced this gentle pore-clearing cleanser will do the trick. Murad Daily Cleansing Foam, $28, available at Sephora.

I challenge you to find a more beautiful hand cream than this. We've long known the amazing skin care benefits that honey provides, but this pretty packaging makes it all the more sweet. Library of Flowers Honeycomb Handcreme, $24, available at Library of Flowers.

This is one sexy looking tube of mascara. With a gel formula that promises lift and color that's blacker than black, it’s totally calling my name. I’ve read all of the reviews (like, all of them) and it sounds like this stuff looks great, lasts forever, and stays put without smudging or flaking. Marc Jacobs Lash Lifter Gel Volume Mascara, $26, available at Sephora.

Just because the days are shorter and it’s getting cooler doesn’t mean that I want to lose my glow. I saw a lady doing a demonstration of this compact recently and I had to exercise all my will power to not tear it out of her hand and run. Complete with a highlighting blush, bronzer, cream, and a finishing powder for setting and touch-ups, I’ll have everything I need for a season’s worth of brightening and contouring. Trish McEvoy Illuminating Cream Palette, $75, available at Nordstrom.

I give in to my curls during the summer, but once fall rolls around I like to trade my waves for a sleeker look. Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner have sweet-talked me into a believer with their claims of frizz-free, shiny hair. Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner, $21, available at Aveda.

As I creep further into the 30-to-35 age bracket, I noticed my skin needs a lot more moisture. It’s hard to find anti-aging products that also work for sensitive skin so I'm hot to get my hands on this jar from Kiehl’s. The formula promises to lift, firm, and smooth while offering up tons of hydration. Kiehl’s Super Multi Corrective Cream, $62, available at Nordstrom.

I never go for a vampy lip, but even I like to go a little darker in the fall. These sheer, buildable lip tints from Butter London are all kinds of gorgeous and Black Cherry has just the wine-colored creaminess that my makeup bag is calling for. Butter London LIPPY Tinted Balm in Black Cherry, $22, available at Butter London.
