I've become somewhat addicted to gel manicures. But, as amazing as it is when they last for weeks without chips, after a few rounds, my nails were 100% destroyed. They developed a yellow tinge and looked like someone scraped off the top layer. Gross.
Clearly, it was time to give my nails a break from gels, but I wasn't about to give up on nail polish altogether (let's be real). So, I decided to get creative with a little nail art at home. My challenge: Pick a design that I could complete on both hands. I wasn't one of those wonder children who could write with their right hand and use scissors with their left, so it was important to pick a design that wasn't too complicated but still had the wow factor.
For DIY inspiration, of course I'm clicking to Pinterest's mecca of pretty pictures. Polka dots, stripes, and watercolor flowers fill my boards, but for summer, nothing goes better with a stack of studded arm candy like a bit of metallic polish. So, I chose a fun V-shaped design with strong lines that would be easy for even a nail art newb like me.
