The smoky eye is only appropriate under two circumstances: 1. At night when you're going out to a club, a bar, or another dimly lit venue, or 2. You're a Victoria's Secret model, so you can wear a smoky eye anytime, any day, anywhere. Right?
Kehinde in New York asks, "I love me a smoky eye, but is there a way to make it wearable during the day?"
The answer is absolutely! A soft smoky eye can definitely work when the sun is out, whether you're clad in a bikini on the beach with a wind machine or not. With just a few tweaks, the dramatic evening look can become brunch-time appropriate. Just follow these tips, ahead.

Tip 1: Chose eyeshadows that have a hint of shimmer. This will help reflect light and keep your peepers bright. Opt for natural golds, soft browns, and silvers, instead of your usual gray and black palette.
Tip 2: Save the black liner for a night on the town, and choose a lighter shade for the day. Browns and navy hues work on every eye color and skin tone.
Tip 4: Keep the liner thin and closer to your lashline than you would at night. Stick to lining the outer rim of your waterline.
Tip 5: Keep the look soft by using brown mascara. Brown is my personal daytime staple that helps dial down the drama, but still provide definition to my lashes.
Tip 6: Finish off the look with a neutral lip. Victoria’s Secret Color Drama Lipstick in Naked is a favorite. It has a creamy texture and pairs perfectly with a darker eye.
And, that's it! You're ready to hit the beach or go to brunch with a smoky eye that's perfectly suitable for the day.
