The '90s were a seminal era for me and I often find myself unconsciously referencing makeup styles from that time. (I blame The Face and i-D). However, it’s terribly boring to simply repeat so update that beloved '90s monochromatic look with washes of warm color in sheer textures.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base (used as eyeshadow and cheek color), $48 available at Chanel; Nars Eyeliner Pencil in Iceberg, $22, available at Nars; Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes in Glossy Black, $38, available at Charlotte Tilbury; Anastasia Brow Fix, $21, available at Anastasia; Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Stoned Rose, $35, available at Charlotte Tilbury; Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in 20 Beige, $45, available at Chanel; Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream (used under makeup and then patted on top of the finished look for added glow), $118, available at Charlotte Tilbury.

Maggimae hails from Kansas and has the most amazing blue eyes (un-retouched, I swear!).

Despite Robin Black's self-professed love/hate relationship with beauty, the photographer-cum-makeup artist behind Beauty is Boring is bent on capturing the faces of everyone from top models to friends to perfect strangers with her vintage Big Shot Polaroid camera, complete with Magicubes & film — after she does their makeup, of course.
