When you're as obsessed with beauty and the interwebs as we are, it's not uncommon to feel like many of the sites are starting to morph into one pretty, but all-too-similar, page. To remedy this, we've been looking for something new, something that will light that fire of our face-painting inspiration, something to add to our "procrastination" bookmarks folder.
Enter, makeup artist Robin Black. Sure, she's got credits in Allure, Elle, and Vogue under her belt — not to mention a few stints at NYFW — but her work has also been featured at MOMA, the Tate Modern, and the Whitney.
Upon visiting her blog/photo-essay "Beauty Is Boring," it's easy to see how she's racked up all these accolades: played out on the faces of some of our favorite models, her creations are stunning, startling, and just plain different from what we're normally used to seeing. And what we really love? She lists the products she used underneath each shot, so there's a small flicker of hope that we can attempt to recreate it at home.
