It's not hard to find someone who either dreams of living in New York City or has lived here for years and cannot imagine being anywhere else. After all, this is the greatest city on Earth — right? Then again, maybe we're all in denial. Joanna Goddard, the genius behind the blog A Cup of Jo, has finally voiced what we're all thinking: Sometimes, living in NYC can be downright ridiculous.
Though Goddard calls out some of the more common complaints of tiny apartments and how crazy expensive everything is ($4 for a cookie, anyone?), she also nails the finer points. Like, why are we OK with rats at our playgrounds and parks? Why does the pizza taste terrible? (Sorry, we're totally agreeing with her on that one). And, why, in our late twenties and early thirties, do we still have a relationship with our local laundromat? Oh, and we can't forget to mention that the never-ending supply of models running around this town can sometimes deflate our self-esteem. Check out the full list, which is accompanied by amazing illustrations by Gemma Correll. Are any of them deal breakers? (We think not.) (Cup of Jo)
