Cool Collabs: Architect, Gaga Designer Take On Swarovski Jewelry

There’s statement jewelry, and then there’s STATEMENT jewelry. Sure, we love our bling bright and big — especially in the summer months when all we want to wear are the basics — but, sometimes, polished plastic just doesn’t cut it. It’s in those circumstances when we turn to our crystal comrades Swarovski. Working hand in hand with designers and industry creatives, Atelier Swarovski is now a seasoned side line to the mother brand, with fall ’12 marking its 10th season since '07. Blossoming from the brain waves of architects, stage designers, and fashion-forward minds, the Atelier line explores new possibilities in crystal design and makes statement jewels even more, well, statement.
Fresh for fall, new collabs come from the likes of architect Greg Lynn and costume designer (and Lady Gaga’s go-to) Zaldy. Greg Lynn takes his "blob architecture" to colored crystals (trust us, it looks a lot better than it sounds), and Zaldy offers the Gaga edge with his graphic, square-cut pieces.
Available at only the chicest of stores — Swarovski ones included, duh — click through to see the covetable collection. But, just a heads-up: Empty pockets are inevitable.
