While we clearly and unapologetically love our nail art, we always make sure that our lacquer obsession doesn't get in the way of our digits actually being useful (stiletto nails, anyone?). Make that made sure, past tense. Because the moment we saw these ultra-creative nail decorations by Portuguese artist and image consultant Marlene Vinha, all that practicality went out the window.
Bored with all of the Plain Jane manis she was seeing around her city, Marlene decided to explore how unusual materials could be used to create beautiful and thought-provoking nail-art designs, regardless of whether or not they're feasible in everyday life. So, together with photographer Fred Gomes and illustrated Raquel Graça and Joana Gomes, she created "Talk To The Hand," a series of eight images that are so disarmingly charming, you'll be aching to recreate those AstroTurf tips by the end.
