What: À Chaque Stencil Une Revolution (For Each Stencil A Revolution) by Latifa Echakhch
Wear: Part of the "Ceci n'est pas...Contemporary Art Between France and Los Angeles" series of exhibitions, this ode to Yves Klein blue is comprised of hundreds of carbon-paper sheets treated with solvent that oozes ink down the lobby wall of the Hammer. While its ombré effect is easy on the eyes, the installation also serves as a political statement: The technology used was key in duplicating anti-war pamphlets of the past, and the title is borrowed from a quote by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. While you're taking in the polarizing beauty and pain of the serious work, stay comfortable in Diesel kicks, and be sure to bring a messenger bag big enough to hold a journal for note taking.
Where: Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Boulevard (at Westwood Boulevard); 310-443-7000.
When: Now through Thursday, July 18; Tuesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

From Left, Clockwise: Minkpink Great White Dip Dye Shirtdress, $88, available at Nordstrom; AllSaints Ecru Denim Jacket, $158, available at AllSaints; Diesel Bleached Denim Persis Sneakers, $135, available at Ssense; 3.1 Phillip Lim Polly Double-Compartment Crossbody Bag, $685, available at Neiman Marcus; Jung ee un Drippings Earrings, $130, available at Boticca.
