Shop For Mom (And For You!) At These Two Can't-Miss Sales

Araks Sample Sale
As much as we love spring's flirty dresses and statement-making shorts, the true foundation of a great outfit is a gorgeous set of underthings. And this Thursday and Friday, one of our fave NYC designers, ARAKS, is taking up to 80% off of her sophisticated unmentionables, swimwear, and ready-to-wear. Standouts include her organic cotton lingerie line, as well as cotton chemises (now $90), camis (now $40), swim sets (now $40), and $10 bins filled with the prettiest bras and panties. So, while you're obsessing over what to wear the office or a night out at Le Baron, just remember it's what's on the inside that counts.
When: Thursday, May 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Where: ARAKS Sample Sale, 137 Grand Street (between Crosby and Lafayette streets), 5th floor; 212-925-8445.
Alexis Bittar Sale
And while we're on the subject of sales, how's that search for the perfect Mother's Day present going? If the answer is "not very good" or "I haven't even started looking yet," we hear you. And while she'll probably say, "you shouldn't have," no matter what you get her, you know you can't go wrong with something that sparkles and shines. From now through Sunday, when you go to any of Alexis Bittar's NYC stores or shop online, they'll donate 10% of your purchase to the local or national charity of your choosing in honor of Mother's Day. So, when you present your mama with a brilliant, new pair of earrings at brunch, you can make her get all misty-eyed when you tell her that you also helped out her favorite cause, as well. If that's not awww-inspiring, we don't know what is.
When: Thursday, May 10, through Sunday, May 13
Where: Alexis Bittar, 465 Broome Street (between Greene and Mercer streets); 212-625-8340; and online. Click here for additional store locations.
