Find Your Most Flattering Sunglasses
The reason celebrities look so cool, even when deplaning at LAX after a stale, intercontinental flight? They’ve mastered the art of finding the most flattering glasses for their face shape and
for photos. That, or they’ve enlisted the help of Darlene Forteza, a senior stylist at Destination Sama
stores, who has helped celebrities like Demi Lovato, Emmy Rossum, Rowan Blanchard, and countless others meet their match. “Rounder faces can pull off angular shapes — like a cat-eye or a style that sits higher on the cheekbones — because they pull the attention up and outward and give the appearance of a more tapered face,” she says. Square face shapes tend to look best with curvier frames that complement angular features.
The curvature of the lens can also be the difference between a flattering photo or one in which your face looks oddly wide or otherwise distorted. For example, though flat-lensed sunnies are super popular right now, they’re not the best option for Instagram-worthy photos. “Sunglasses with a slight, almost undetectable curve in the lens can seem flat, but they eliminate all glare and distortion," she says. “Nearly flat — or a more traditional curved base — will photograph much more flattering in almost every image.”Sama Eyewear
