It's hard to think of all the emotional highs and lows, Oscar-worthy performances, and dreams of revolution Les Misérables is about to bring to us, without getting a little worked up. It will be a feat — nay, a miracle — if we make it to the Christmas Day release in one piece. But, you know what helps? Premieres. And the red-carpet hits and misses they bring with them.
At the film's recent London premiere in Leicester Square, Amanda Seyfried had what we're going to go ahead and call one of her best fashion moments yet. Nailing the classic Old Hollywood look, the actress sported a coquettish, spring '13 Balenciaga dress (adding just a bit more buzz to the brand's major bout of recent press). The ruffles. The fitted bodice. The architectural effect. All so perfect. We applaud
Cosette's Seyfried's fitting, yet unexpected, choice.
Which might be why we were more bummed out than might seem appropriate, by Anne Hathaway. Though both Les Mis stars can wear potato sacks and slippers and leave us breathless, Seyfried really excelled last night. It appears that she simply...dreamed a
dream gorgeous dress.
