Britney Spears loves a circus, and apparently, so does Alexander Wang—we could almost imagine him singing her song of the same name last night at his after-party—"I'm like the ring-leader, I call the shots." Indeed, Wang was like a kid at a candy shop at his carnival-themed party, held at a gargantuan parking lot under the High Line on 10th Avenue and 17th Street. Normally a shit-show, this year Wangapalooza's door was easy-breezy, as long as you had the requisite wrist-band. Everywhere you turned, it was like being back in some insane version of Lost Boys, with the hottest boys we've seen all year, (in more moto jackets than a Harley Convention), indulging in all the usual carnival-ish acitivites—squirting guns to win stuffed animals dressed up in Belvedere t-shirts, taking a spin on bumper cars, and hopping a ride on the super-super dangerously speedy merry-go round. And even if games weren't your thing, there was pulled-pork sandwiches roasting in one corner, three bars stocked with Belvedere and Veuve, and, a dance floor where hipsters, Agyness Deyn, and Terry Richardson actually danced to Miley. And the Wangster seemed to be looooving it—he was throwing his t-shirts out of air cannons to throngs of screaming fans who proved free Wang trumps too-cool-for-school when it really comes down to it. Although, to be honest, we kinda already saw that while watching Rocco bags fly high on the bouncy castle—and yes, we may have lost a shoe. Although the rumored performance by Outkast never materialized, no one seemed to notice, least of all Wang—we spotted him taking a 1 A.M. carousel ride screaming "whee....!" Our sentiments exactly.
